We have never been here before.
And we are going to come through, but forever changed. We are collectively experiencing a watershed moment, not unlike a slow motion 9-11. These days will rattle us, shake us down, and see what we have in our pockets, to put in the kiddy; because, it is going to take all of our deepest humanity to make use of what is happening.
Uncharted territory is both unsettling, and potent, with creative possibility.
The good news is that we can each, in our own corner of the world, write this story down, by bringing our best selves to the project. That is my attempt here. We need beauty and balm as well as practical ways of holding ourselves and our loved ones in these times.
This is a servant time.
All around us, people are committed to serving, caring and sharing.
To honor the connection between us that is being forever altered by our sharing in this collective journey into an unknown future, each of us can contribute something. We can donate money, share our hand wipes, text our neighbors to see what they need from the store….so many possibilities. No need to go anywhere. Look around, see what is needed, what you have to offer. One thing.
I feel called to be of service in new ways and to trust that what need, to provide for my family, will be fulfilled. I have no guarantee of this; but I believe it to be true. I look around, see what is needed, and what I have to offer.
Each day, I spend some time meditation in the heart of a massive mother tree near my home. I’ve been brooding over these reflections and creative ideas for a while now. It seems like a good time to start birthing them and sharing them.
A few days ago, I just took the leap, and put my first short video out on Instagram to encourage and inspire you. Beware, these are heartfelt, but low-tech. Just seems more important right now to show up.
I am incubating some other ideas as well, something communal, online. Its what I can offer, while we journey onward. Stay tuned!
I too am embracing change.
I have long resisted incorporating Telehealth (phone/video sessions) into my practice, and now, I gratefully embrace it. I am grateful that this allows us to transcend distance, find creative ways of working, while caring for our people, and holding the sacred communal covenant of staying home, for the greater good.
In Solidarity,
Lisa
